Grow more than just plants

Help us nurture resilience, health, and hope—one seed at a time. Join our Mindful Garden initiative

Our Mindful Gardening & Eating Initiatives offer under-resourced families a real-life Farm-to-Table experience. By empowering kids to grow and prepare healthy food, we create ripples: fighting childhood obesity, building nutrition literacy, and strengthening community bonds.

In Maryland, around 20.5% of youth ages 10–17 have obesity (State of Childhood Obesity). In Frederick County, nearly 9% face food insecurity—over 23,600 individuals struggle to access nourishing meals (Stacker). With your generosity, each donation helps plant seeds of wellness—literally and emotionally.

"Grow Your Own" for Families

Mindful Gardening means helping kids dig, plant, grow—and in the process, learn to notice their feelings, care for themselves, and build resilience. This project is more than planting vegetables—it’s about growing emotional health. That’s how Mindful Gardening feeds into Mindful Eating: kids harvest produce, prepare simple recipes, and taste their creations—learning the deep connection between food, body, and well-being.

We’ve set a goal: $2,000 to support our Mindful Garden’s annual preparation and maintenance. That covers soil, seeds, tools, snacks, and educational materials for our youth-driven garden sessions.
